Impacts of dam construction on the macroinvertebrate community in the Poxin-Açú, in a tropical region

چکیده
River regularization plays an important role in socio economic development. However, it also modifies the natural flow system of river and its biotic abiotic characteristics, causing significant impacts on rivers. To evaluate macroinvertebrate community caused by dam construction Poxim-Açú River, metrics composition structure macroinvertebrates were analyzed, as well ecological biological traits region. Macroinvertebrates collected at three sites located downstream dam, before (2013) after (2015) construction. The water quality was classified “good” to “excellent” according biotics indices. alterations regime influenced communities, modifying their diversity, equitability, richness, number individuals.
